Born and raised on his grandparents’ farm in Sylvania. Francys learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and service. He’s been making a positive difference for a long time through service to community-based organizations focused on helping people help themselves. Francys is a committed progressive and public servant who has spent his life advocating for real solutions that expand opportunity for all Americans.
Francys practices criminal and civil law in Georgia's state and federal courts from his Statesboro Main Street office. A graduate of both Georgia Southern University and The University of Georgia, he previously served on the Political Science and Criminal Justice faculties at Georgia Southern and Savannah State Universities, teaching Race and the Law Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and American Government.
Francys has served as an ordained baptist minister for more than twenty years. He serves as Senior Minister at both the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Pembroke, GA and the Magnolia Baptist Church near Brooklet, GA.
Francys is married to Dr. Meca Renee Williams-Johnson, an educational psychologist and educator at Georgia Southern University. They have three sons, Thurgood Marshall Joshua, Langston Hughes Elijah, and the late Frederick Douglass Caleb.
Francys' life’s work is found in the command of Micah 6:8 --To love mercy, do justice, and walk humbly. In both his personal and public life, he has proven to be an outspoken champion for constitutional liberties. A fierce advocate for government accountability, Francys works tirelessly to help people live their best lives!
