Member Services

Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

This Church is an essential part of the faith community of those in the Statesboro - Bulloch County Area. For more than 100 years, the community has counted on Sweet Magnolia's impact to meet their needs. The Mission of "serving this present age" remains at the core of Sweet Magnolia's identity.

We offer the following member services:

Baptism

We believe that all of God’s people should be baptized after accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4) Believers are not saved through baptism. Baptism is simply an outward symbol of an inward commitment to Christ.

You are considered a candidate for baptism when you:

  1. have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and have never been fully submerged in baptism; or

  2. Join Sweet Magnolia as a Member.

If you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission.  Baptism is for those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, infants and children aged 4 years and younger can participate in Baby Dedication, where parents can dedicate them to the Lord.

Baby Dedications

Baby Dedication is an opportunity for parents to publicly proclaim their faith in Christ and their commitment to pass their faith on to their children. Baby dedication is based upon Hannah’s presentation of Samuel to the Lord in 1 Samuel 1: 19-28.

Baby dedication does not guarantee salvation for your child. Your child will have to personally accept Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior when old enough to understand the Gospel and the need for forgiveness.

Parents, Grandparents, Godparents, and foster parents who are members of Magnolia Baptist Church and designated by the court as the legal guardian of the child or children may request to participate in the baby's dedication.
